Dear Families,

This afternoon, there was a brief “stay in place” drill at Walnut Square. We want to assure you that all students and staff are safe and accounted for.  The drill was initiated as a precautionary measure after a small bat was discovered in a hallway.  Following our safety protocols, all students and staff were directed to stay securely in their classrooms with their doors closed. 

When it was safe to do so, we had all students and staff go outside for a smooth school dismissal.  I understand that hearing about an event like this can be concerning, and I want to thank you for your trust and support.  Student and staff safety is my highest priority, and I am proud of how everyone responded today.
